Sometimes a stone gets thrown up and lodges between the cable and inner workings. If they are an exact size it locks the whole thing up. If they are smaller they lodge until a jolt removes them. It seems to have happened with the new tyres fitted, so i wonder if the tread pattern picks the stone up... have a great week mate..
